My Set up

I have the ISS mounted on a pole 1.5 metres above the ground with the anemometer a further 2.3 meters above that on a hinged pole.  The temperatures probes are at the grass level and buried at 100 mm along with the soil moisture sensor.  In addition, added safety for my station comprises of many warehouse solar lights to alert any very low air craft of its position, and a fence to stop my alpaca's and sheep from chewing the sensors and their wiring.

The Past

My weather watching started officially in 2004 when I moved to a lifestyle block just out of Taihape.

My Station then comprising of a rain gauge and Min Max Temperature thermometer, with all readings entered on to a spreadsheet.

Then in late 2005 I purchased a La Crosse WS 3600 with Heavy Weather software, which took the pressure off being home everyday to record data.

The Present

In November 2007 I purchased my current station.
